Public Gold Panning & Gem Hunting Sites Map Project
This map of public gold panning and gem hunting sites is an ongoing work in progress. The map is a collaboration of sorts, a "wiki" that uses the Google Maps system. The map is open to public editing, so please feel free to share your knowledge and add sites that you know of. Hopefully, with enough participation, this will grow over time and become a real resource.
Most of the sites included below are free public use sites, or parks with day use fees, but there are some pay sites included as well. There are a variety of prospecting and rockhounding activities represented below.
Being a public effort, we can't guarantee the accuracy of all of the information included, but will try to keep things as clean as we can. Use the map for ideas, but do some research before jumping in your rig and hitting the highway.
Again, this is a collaborative effort, so I hope you all join in!
