These plastic cushion beads are used to protect stones from damage during later stages of polishing, to cushion softer rocks from damaging each other, to fill space as material takes up less room in the tumbler, etc. They can be reused, often up to 10 runs, until worn too much to offer any cushioning, and are a must have for anyone getting into rock polishing.
