Black Cat's very own Fancy Litter Gold Panning Concentrates are sure to please the prospector (or pampered kitty) on your list. Every bag contains real gold!
Each bag is 1.5 lbs of pure Oregon pay dirt. These are real, gold bearing concentrates, taken from our own sluice boxes, high-bankers, etc. They're loaded with heavy black sands, small pebbles, the odd bit of lead shot and of course, gold! These concentrates are the real deal, and they're tough to pan, so will definitely help to hone the skills of newer panners and provide a challenge for even more experienced prospectors.
"...I panned out one tablespoon at a time and found gold in every pan without exception. My dad almost had a heart attack when he started to see the nice pickers that I was pulling out of the pans and he couldn't keep his fingers out." Ben in TX
"...my wife got such a charge out of the concentrates, that I'd like to get a couple more to keep her busy till it stops raining." Jack in MT
Tips:
1. Make sure you get every bit of dirt out of your bag. Gold likes to find and hide in crevices. The same holds for the nooks and crannies of the tough 3mil baggies we pack our cons in.
2. You'll want to use a tub and safety pan with any bag of concentrates you buy, and we strongly recommend it with ours.
3. Pan out each bag several times over. The pickers are easy, but with all that black sand, you'll have to work for the really fine stuff.
Warning: While Fancy Litter has proven to be an effective treatment for cabin fever, common side effects include increased symptoms commonly associated with gold fever.
If you're new to panning, you might want check out our How to Pan for Gold page to help get you started. It's written with a stream bank in mind, but the same principles apply to panning in a tub as a creek.
